Chemical Data Management Systems is an environmental and safety compliance consulting firm seeking an experienced EH&S professional to join our Dublin and Signal Hill ( Long Beach), CA offices.

CDMS provides project and ongoing compliance support services to businesses to assist in meeting EH&S regulatory requirements. We have assisted companies, primarily in California, for over 25 years in many aspects of compliance.

Duties will include addressing specific regulatory projects for clients as well as facilitating on going compliance support for clients. The Senior Consultant will meet with clients, interface with regulatory agencies, prepare documentation, and address other activities to facilitate client compliance needs.

This position can lead to a managerial position.

This position requires a college degree and experience in the environmental field, and FLUENCY IN SPANISH is preferred.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has at least 4 years of experience in the environmental field with a focus on compliance with hazardous material and safety regulations.  This includes:
    • Preparing Hazardous Material Business Plans
    • Preparing Hazardous Material Chemical inventories
    • Preparing Air Emission Reports
    • Preparing AQMD air permit applications
    • Preparing EPA Form R Reports
    • Preparing Tiered Permit Applications
    • Preparing Sanitation District Self Monitoring Reports
    • Preparing Hazardous Material fee reports
    • Conducting employee training
    • Conducting monitoring (air monitoring, soil sampling, etc.)
    • Conducting compliance audits
  • Is strong in math and science
  • Is personable and has professional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Has strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Has high attention to detail and strong project management skills
  • Ability to be comfortable conducting trainings to groups of 10-40 people
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • The ability to work independently
  • Experience with Mac computers

CDMS assists clients to compile with Air Quality, Wastewater, Hazardous Waste, Hazardous Material, Storm Water, Safety and many other requirements.

The position of an Environmental Specialist will involve activities such as:

  • Preparing reports (Air Emissions Reports, EPA Form R reports, Hazardous Material Business Plans, Hazardous Material Chemical Inventories, Biennial Hazardous Waste Report, etc.)
  • Assisting with permitting requirements and documentation (air quality, wastewater, Tiered Permitting, stormwater, etc.)
  • Conducting employee training
  • Conducting monitoring (air monitoring, soil sampling, etc.)
  • Conducting compliance audits
  • Providing ongoing compliance support to clients
  • Providing various other support activities to clients to assist with their compliance efforts

As an Environmental Specialist you will assist companies with their environmental compliance requirements through on-site visits, working with regulatory agencies, and inspecting client’s sites to help them maintain compliance.

This position requires a college degree and experience in the environmental field.
