MSDS Maintenance
Regulations require that companies maintain MSDS’s for all Hazardous Materials used on site.
An MSDS is a “Material Safety Data Sheet” that outlines the characteristics, ingredients, hazard classes, exposure limits, emergency and first aid information, etc about a material.
Manufacturing facilities use many different chemicals and have to maintain 100’s of MSDS’s. Many companies don’t do an effective job of this, and MSDS’s end up in a big unorganized pile or binder
The purpose of the MSDS is to provide quick access to chemical information for all that may be exposed to the material. When the MSDS’s aren’t well organized and complete, it can be very difficult to find a specific MSDS’s. This is a common problem.
CDMS can offer a solution through the Internet, which allows companies to have a “virtual binder” of MSDS’s that is web accessible allowing employees and managers to manage, search and view their MSDS’s much easier.
