Manifest Regulations Change September 5th, 2006
ARE YOUR READY?

As of September 5th, 2006 you are no longer allowed to use old versions of California manifests, or manifests from other states to ship hazardous waste. The EPA  requires that you use the revised U.S. EPA Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest.

The most obvious change? The form is no longer color-coded.
More important are the following:

  • Unless your receiving or transporting facility pre-prints the manifests, you will need to obtain the proper forms from the EPA.
  • The revised EPA form does not include a Generator-to-State submittal page but generators are still required to submit manifests to the DTSC.  This means you will need to make and send a photocopy of the original, or submit (a copy of) the “Generator retains” page.

If you have any questions about these changes or need help making the transition, please contact CDMS.
